Meet the humans of The Green Investment Club

And be inspired by their transformation stories…

Before I joined The Green Investment Club (TGIC) I had a good saving habit but I didn’t know much about investing. I had heard about some investment opportunities but as a typical Nigerian, I was quite sceptical. I didn’t want to lose money or end up being swindled.

I Joined The Green Investment Club because I needed information from a credible source, someone who is informed, understands how the economic environment operates and would not take advantage of my naivety. That person is Tomie Balogun.

So far, I have no regrets. Every member of my family by extension, is a member of the Green Club. I share the opportunities and we pool resources to invest. It’s great to see everyone make financial progress. My dad had a bad experience from the stock market crash and has stayed away since then.

This year, after sharing TGIC weekly newsletters with him, he made better informed decisions about the stock market. I have been a member of the TGIC since 2017 and it’s one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I now understand how money can work for me. Tomie is so invested in the growth of its members.

TGIC is a gift that keeps on giving and I am happy for every member and excited about the future of the club.

Before I joined the green club, I was living a vicious cycle of earning to spend. I could go from 100 to 0 and back to 100 in what seemed like an instant.

To be fair, I continually tried to set long, mid and short term financial goals but just never followed through due to lack of practical understanding of how. I only knew it was something that was wise to do, but never really understood why or how to go about it.

The Green Investment Club makes investing easy. Being part of a community of proactive investors and having already-vetted investment opportunities delivered to me on a platter, eliminates the initial apprehension I would have had to deal with if I had to do the vetting all by myself.

In 2019 alone, I bought my first ever stock and increased my real estate investment portfolio. Whoop!

Being a member of the Green Club has been one of the best decisions of my entire life. Financial freedom no longer feels like a wish, it has become a SMART goal.

Prior to joining The Green Investment Club (TGIC), I was simply afraid of investing in any investment opportunities in Nigeria because I had heard too many stories about people who lost their money from investing in projects (even the projects supervised by close family members). I made up my mind investing in Nigeria wasn’t easy for me until I joined TGIC.

I joined the club because investing in Nigeria via TGIC was very transparent and the club provides a great support system and the community.

Since becoming a member of the TGIC, I have also started my own investment club in the US. It’s a community of like-minded soldiers and their respective families. We started with 12 members in July 2016 while on deployment to the Middle East because I needed a way to save so I could take advantage of opportunities even while been at the battlefront.

We grossed $72k in savings when we started in 2016, but we have since scaled and now we have more members across California, Maryland, New York and Texas, we now gross 6 digits in savings. We are still a young investment club and growing but we have big plans. I feel great about being a TGIC member. It’s one of my best decisions.

I joined the Green Investment Club because my friend, Isi, advised me to. I was at a point where I was aggressively saving my money but didn’t have any ideas what else to do with it.

I now have a diverse investment portfolio, thanks to the Green Club. I am no longer tempted by the latest “flavour of the day” when it comes to possible investments.

I have an investment plan, and I am working towards it. So, no matter how attractive an investment opportunity looks, I now have the investment education and discipline to know if it’s really something I should invest in or not.

I feel really happy I took the step when I did. The Green Club is serious value for money.

Before I joined the Green Club, making financial decisions and knowing what to look out for when making an investment was a bit clumsy for me. Joining the club has helped me build and validate my investment acumen in so many ways.

I have taken financial decisions that have affected me positively such as being deliberate with my monthly budget, making investment a bill and diversifying my investment options extensively across multiple industries.

Joining the club has also helped me validate my business sense in so many ways, especially because of my risk appetite.

I feel very fulfilled as I learn something new every week  from the weekly newsletters as a member of this community.

I joined the Green Club after following Tomie on Instagram and realizing I could be doing a lot more with my resources.

Since I joined the club, I have consolidated my stock portfolio (this is a big deal because I do not live in Nigeria) and I don’t keep loose cash anymore. My money works hard. My spending is very calculated. My budget is strict and I look at my numbers critically now to ensure there is no wastage. My bank account is always empty now because I keep my money busy running errandssss.

The investment opportunities shared weekly in the TGIC newsletter are the real deal for me. That access makes me feel empowered and I am carrying as many people as I can along my journey.

In addition, my old school mates and I started an investment club and we are growing together, we have sealed deals worth millions till date with very good returns. We have BIG dreams and I have earned the nickname “The Money Woman” from my friends because I believe we need to help build a generation that will not depend on their children in old age and it starts now.

I used to be an investment banker and my investment knowledge was centered on traditional options such as fixed deposit and treasury bills. I was unaware of other numerous alternative investment opportunities that existed.

When I joined the Green Investment Club in 2018, I was neck deep in school loans and I could not figure out how to grow an investment portfolio while meeting my obligations. Now, through the knowledge and the investment opportunities, I discovered through the Green Club, I have succeeded in paying down on all my loans and I have increased my investment portfolio by almost 90%.

Joining the Green Investment club has been one of the best investment decisions I have made in my life.
